Clayson decided to do this because customers would leave their empty milk bottles on their porches with money in them and a note tellmg what they wanted the next time. The money in the bottles started disappearing before Clayson could get there. The customers put the tickets in their empty bottles telling what they wanted and no more money was stolen.
