	*New Mexico - 9,000 feet* The visible portions of the Santa Fe and Carson National Forests make up three large islands near the Colorado border and combined, are a total of approximately 800 square miles. In the Gila and Cibola National Forests and near Cloudcroft are a number of small islands approximately 10 to 20 square miles each.
