Rivers
are now forming on the western portions of Mt. Baker National Forest,
North Cascades National Park and Ross Lake National Rec. Area. The Olympic
National Forest is getting increasingly smaller. The town of Neilton on
this island is now underwater. In south central Washington, the Columbia
River is now spreading up tributaries to the north reaching Moses Lake
and up past Lake Chelan into the areas of Omak and Riverside. The cities
of Richland, Kennewick and Yakima have been inundated. Lake Sacajawea
along the Snake River has been breached and flooding continues along the
Snake through to the eastern state border.
